Liz Fakes Federal and State Income Tax returns to get our Mortgage Loan

| In 2007, Washington Mutual, our mortgage holder called, and wanted to know if we wanted to refinance. They said we'd save $300 a month. I said sure, send us the paperwork. I didn't mention it to Liz, as I just thought it might show up in a week or so and forgot about it. The next day, Fed Ex showed up at the door with a letter pack, that was about an inch and a half thick. I signed for it, and torn it open, had allot of paperwork to fill out. I put it on the Breakfast Bar and went about making dinner. A few hours later, Liz returned home, and saw the Washington Mutual Logo, picked it up, turned white, and asked me where it had come from. I told her, and she quickly threw it in the trash like it was on fire. I looked at her like she was crazy, and asked her what was wrong. When she had got the mortgage, she took care of all the paperwork, and never showed me any of it.
Well, she tells me, she had faked everything on the original paperwork. Federal and Sate Tax returns, Employment records, bank records, etc. She then went on, that her boss and others at Gardner Companies had helped, and when Washington Mutual called her job to verify, they also lied about it.
I was horrified. Falsifying Federal Tax returns? Lying on loan papers, etc. I said, let's just fill it out with the truth, they'll give it to us, we already have been making payments for 6 years. But no, she would have nothing to do with it. Once again, lying as usual. |
